In January, a handful of Roosevelt
University graduate and undergraduate students began looking at the 2008
Presidential campaign. They studied the history of primary elections and
took a close look at the election that was playing out all around them.
By Super Tuesday, Feb. 5, Illinois Primary
Election day, they had all the background they needed to launch into a
series of essays about politics, change, candidates and what it all means.
They also interviewed an extensive array of
potential Illinois voters to find out what they thought about the
candidates and the process.
Here, then, are the essay and reporting
results from two classes: On the Trail of the Primary, Journalism
367/467, and The Voters Decide, Journalism 368/468.
